Worker Bee Schedule (Ages 4 going on 5)

Tingley Preschool and Kindergarten’s "Worker Bees" are four turning five during the school year. "This is the year of preparation for Kindergarten." Our "Worker Bees" enjoy their pre-K experience as they master their skills in our "Busy Bee" room which is outfitted with a variety of hands-on learning aids and games. Reading is approached with a strong foundation in phonics combined with a whole experience using "Big Books." The program revolves around an annual theme and the "letter of the week." Children are encouraged to print letters, numbers, and their names. They practice their fine motor skills and enjoy computer programs.

Art features special projects designed to reinforce the letter of the week, as well as provide different materials with which the children experiment. Different environments are set up in the sand, water, and play doh tables according to the letter of the week.

Science and Cooking classes help to reinforce the math and reading readiness concepts while producing fun, interesting, and tasty results. Practical skills provide good results as they appeal to all of the children’s learning styles (visual, auditory, and tactile)

Gymnastics and Movement classes round out the total experience by providing gross motor challenges as well as good sportsmanship.
